Los Angeles, 1949. The ruthless mob king Mickey Cohen leads the government in the city and enriched itself through the revenues from drugs, guns, prostitution and - if possible - every bet is closed west of Chicago. And he does all this thanks to the protection of not only his own crew, but also the police and the politicians he keeps under his thumb. He scares even the bravest and toughest cops off, except a little secret division of the LAPD who, led by Sgt. John O'Mara and Jerry Wooters, join forces to bring down Cohen.
